Born in Shanghai, he moved to Hong Kong in 1957; that same year is published his first novel, "Buried Alive". Next year he began his prolific career as chivalric fiction writer, and in 1962 he wrote his first science-fiction novel. But he has also written prose, essay, political criticism and film scripts.
